The Vidal Blanc is a hybrid varietal created from the parents Ugni Blanc and another early French American hybrid, Rayon d’Or. The cross was devised by prolific French hybridizer Jean Louis Vidal. Despite the international history the Vidal Blanc vines are right at home in the Bluegrass terroir, and the Vidal Blanc is a perennial best-seller.
